Lessons

I've been interested in dreams for a long time because I believe our dreams tell us, metaphorically, what we've been through, what's happening now, and what may happen in our lives. Some of us remember our dreams at times, and we search for what those dreams meant.

Several days ago, I woke up one morning, and I knew I had woke up from another dream. I have dreams often every week, and some seem more real than others.

In this particular dream, I started my first day at school, at some high school, and I wasn't sure what grade level I was in. I wandered around the school building, searching for one of my classes listed on my schedule, which I was holding in my hand. The building was massive, I recalled, as I was wandering around with my backpack on. At one point, I went to the guidance counselor to ask for help, to find this class. I found the class with the help I received, and I was relaxed once I walked inside the room.

I went to 3 different high schools in my life, which I'm sure some of you can relate to, and those years were difficult for me.

Wasn't high school not the easiest for some of us? I wished I had could have focused more on my studies and education goals while I was in high school versus what I was doing. I was heavily distracted by the negative situations I had going on, and I didn't know how to get through them effectively. Everything happened for a reason with those times, and it taught me lessons that I needed to learn. I don't look back at those times and harbor over them; part of life is about learning from our mistakes.

For me, I try to decode these messages in my dreams, like this high school one. I want to keep discovering what I need in my life to become a mentally and emotionally stronger person, and I hope that for others.
